OCCASIONALLY Yours Florist (now known as Flowers Unlimited) in Sanderstead has been on Limpsfield Road since 1979 and continues to be a popular place for locals to go and buy their flowers, plants, and decorations.
Describe your business.
We are a long-established florist and we definitely know a lot about the business of floristry; we all have qualifications and everyone loves this job and being around flowers daily. We cater for everything, from flowers to weddings to special occasions.
What is your unique selling point?
Our attention to detail sets us apart from everyone else. We also make sure we give great customer service and we also only use fresh flowers and we can get them to you any day. We also work with e-florists so we can deliver anywhere and we even have our own delivery driver who will bring flowers to you.
Have you had to adapt your business to cope with the recession?
We have had to make sure that we supply things other than flowers, so for example we also sell chocolates and teddy bears and that kind of thing. We also have very competitive prices and have learnt to be really flexible with our prices and to help the customer.
Have you noticed a drop in business in the past 12 months?
People don't pop in to buy flowers as much any more and women will also be much more careful with their weddings; they won't spend as much as they used to so we try and help them make the right decisions. Flowers are a luxury but we feel we have brilliant fresh flowers for great prices so we are still doing well and ticking over.
